Description

St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh set just off the High Street. I love this building and its Architecture, I know the photo isn't amazing but I just wanted to convey how imposing it is compared to its size.

It seems like a simple picture of a church. But look at it a bit closer. Cathedrals are known for their beautiful architecture that seems to stand the test of time. Put that cathedral in black-and-white, and you have something a bit more powerful. It is almost as if the cathedral takes on a newer, darker, more menacing life. The angle in this shot makes the building seem to tower over everything else. Also, you just feel the need to stare at it and pick out minute details in the stained glass, the brickwork, etc. You really feel the need to soak everything in and really put yourself in the photographer's eyes.
